Country Creatures Chef Series 2023

After the popularity of the first Chef series, which saw chefs including Phil Howard, Richard Corrigan, Thomasina Miers and Ben Tish take to the stoves, we are thrilled to announce the first four chef’s for this year’s series all at The Double Red Duke. All events are £70 per person plus optional wine pairing.

Jeremy Lee – 23rd April

Jeremy Lee has been the Chef Proprietor of the venerable Soho restaurant Quo Vadis since early 2012, making a name for himself with a quintessentially British menu that reflects the seasons and the incredible list of suppliers he works so closely with. We are thrilled to be welcoming him to The Double Red Duke where he will be creating a special one off menu for our guests.

Avinash Shashidhara – 24th May

We can’t wait to welcome Avinash Shashidhara, head chef at Fitzrovia-based Pahli Hill Bandra Bhai. For something a little bit different in our Chef Series the menu, as it is at Pahli Hill, the menu will be  modelled on the cultural melting pot of regional cuisines of India. Avi was brought up in the south eastern Indian city of Bangalore and much of his food comes from this heritage. Currently competing in the 2023 Series of The Great British Menu you can catch Avi on TV too.

Andrew Clarke – 21st June

Seasoned and much-loved restaurateur, Andrew Clarke, opened his East London restaurant ACME Fire Cult in 2021, where he champions live fire cooking. So a bit of a no brainer to ask Andrew to come and show us his skills over the flames in our kitchen. Over his 20 years in hospitality, Andrew has built a name for himself and his cooking through the establishments of some of London’s leading dining institutions, including Brunswick House and St Leonards.

Mitch Tonks – 19th July

We were keen to showcase some of the best fish cooked by a serious expert in the business so can’t wait for Mitch Tonks to be cooking with us, one of the most respected connoisseurs of seafood and sustainability in the UK. Mitch Tonks is on a mission to change the way we experience seafood. Mitch founded the award winning Seahorse in Dartmouth and Rockfish, a group of seafood restaurants based by the water across Devon and Dorset.
